AIESEC has given Layial the opportunity to become a leader in her community, her country, and several countries elsewhere in the world. Her love for the organization began at her first AIESEC Conference, the point at which she noticed the traits that set AIESEC apart.
After witnessing the excitement and enthusiasm of AIESEC members for their roles as global agents of change, Layial was inspired to take on a leadership position in her Local Committee in Calgary. She spent two terms as VP of Talent Management, before going on to become Local Committee President.
During her time as leader of her Local Committee, Layial had the opportunity not only to develop and focus her leadership skills, but also to expand her personal network to include members of Local Committees from the 27 University Campuses AIESEC is present on in Canada. An especially unique experience presented itself with Layial was able to travel to Poland for AIESEC’s International Congress as a representative of Canada.
Since her time in AIESEC Calgary, Layial has travelled to Macedonia to facilitate a conference, as well as India and Qatar to assist with the development of AIESEC in those countries. She is now proving her abilities as a leader in her position as VP of Talent Management for AIESEC Canada.
